Abstract: The clinical use of hypnosis is beholden to logistic realities including the time in which a clinician has to work, and the speed with which the desired effects are needed. This session will focus upon rapid, simple, brief, and evidence-based induction techniques appropriate for the clinical setting. Advanced hypnotic techniques will be demonstrated and discussed in the context of their utility for immediacy. This material will be presented using a combination of lecture, case-based, and experiential/psychomotor teaching strategies. Use of scientific literature regarding this modality will be emphasized.
