Abstract: The use of ideomotor and ideosensory techniques in clinical hypnosis allow practitioners mechanisms to help patients accomplish clinical goals. Often associated with mastery, this body of clinical skill as been closely associated with celebrated clinical hypnosis luminaries including Dr. Dabney M. Ewin. This session will focus on, the cognitive and psychomotor essentials necessary for the use of these techniques in the clinical setting. Advanced hypnotic techniques will be demonstrated and discussed in the context of the use of ideomotor ideosensory methods. This material will be presented using a combination of lecture, case-based, and experiential/psychomotor teaching strategies. Use of scientific literature regarding this modality will be emphasized.
