Abstract: The paradoxical universality and idiosyncrasy of grief and loss make them complex topics with relevance to all corners of medicine and behavioral health. In this session, clinicians proficient in clinical hypnosis will learn how to apply their skills and knowledge on behalf of patients who have experienced loss or grief, and advanced hypnotic techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. This material will be presented using a combination of lecture, case-based, and experiential/psychomotor teaching strategies. Use of scientific literature regarding this modality will be emphasized.
